Question Comptech Sport Springs

I was looking at this website and I am going to first purchase the Icebox Cold Air Intake from them. After I get the intake I was looking to buy the sport springs for my 2003 acura TL (non type S) I was wondering if you guys think that this is worth buying or not. What are the advantages of having the sport springs compared to the stock springs? I know the car will be lowered an inch or two, but what else are the perks of having these? Thanks for your help ~MasterDavid

H&R sport springs FTW if you are gonna use them with stock shocks. You could always go with HR sports and tokico HP shocks (blue ones) for a drop and a ride that's practical for everyday driving and still much better than OE.

If you've got a lot of miles on your car, you might as well do your shocks at the same time.

If not, here's another vote for H&R.

i think i'd go h&r too. i've used them on other cars and no complaints. i'd get springs if you're on a budget, but if you're not, get some tein coilovers.

I have a set of comptechs (the old silver ones). They are not bad springs at all, but there were a few issues with them for the older models (the silver ones). Apparently many members ran into rusting issues with this setup. Most of the rusting issues were mainly people from snowy areas where the roads are covered with salt which eventually rusted their springs quite quickly and would crack. But some others not in snowy areas would also run into the same problem, which is actually a huge problem and most likely ruined the reputation of Comptech springs. To get rid of this problem, it seems that comptech has bought/adopted the Eibach springs (black coated).

Drop-wise, they are about the same. Don't know the exact numbers but from search maybe "Eibach springs" or "sport springs" you will get those numbers. H&R springs are a little bit lower than Comptech's.

Pricewise, you can probably get H&R springs cheaper than comptech.

I have not been in a TL with H&R springs, but I have read that they are not very harsh. When I got my springs installed, the car pretty much rode like stock and barely felt any difference. I got my alignment done and the front was already aligned perfectly, but it is the rear that the shop needed a camber kit because our rear's do not have much room for adjustment. But the camber is not too off and tire rotation should solve the problem. Overall the comptech sport springs work for me, but it seems like H&R gives you a lower drop, are cheaper, and also don't require for a camber kit.
