Exclamation Comptech Icebox Problem

So I went to clean my air filter today for the first time, and for the love of all things holy, I spent over an hour trying to remove this last f'ing screw.

I pretty much took apart everything around it, but still can't get this goddamn thing out. The screw just turns in place. I've tried using a pair of pliars to yank it out, but no luck... any suggestions?

Did you try putting a flat head under the lip of the screw and try to pry it up a little? Sounds stripped...

I have the same problem on my IceBox. I ended up prying the cover out and pulling the stud together with it. I replaced the screw with a regular long (thin) screw to secure the cover back. It seems to hold it for about 10k miles now.

You mean they sent you a new cover? That would not work since the place that messed up is the stud/bolt which was embedded to the bottom filter box. Unless Comptech sent you the entire top and bottom box, it may not help solve this issue.

BTW, were you still under warranty when you had this issue?
