Post Color Preferences

I'm just curious about what people think about colors for the TL/TL Type S. I liked the Laguna Green, but that is no more for 2002. I thought of the White Diamond, but wasn't sure how it will hold over time, and then there is the Dark Emerald. Any opinions out there about which colors look best on the TL? Thanks for your feedback

I like darker colors--harder to keep clean, but look great when they are. So, black or dark emerald pearl were my preferences. (The blue, while distinctive, is a little bright for my tastes.) I chose the dark emerald pearl for my TL-S because it is available only on the "S" model. I wish that the fern interior was still an option--I think that it is a nice compromise between the too-light parchment and too-dark ebony.

black/enbony. Hard to keep clean but a good looking car when shiny. I have had black cars for 20 years and really wanted a change but black was the only color I thought I would not regret. Besides, my bodyman says he can match black any day but he can't match many of the other colors.

Have a look at Snook's white one, somewhere in this site. Based on that I ordered Pearl White TL-S. My last 4 cars have been black, and the pearl looks sweet on this car. Muchmuch easier to maintain too.

I really like that Blue too, but it only comes in a black interior...I live in Phoenix,AZ and a black interior is torture during the 120 Degree summers... Why did they do away with the grey interior??? That would have looked nice too. Oh well...Cost cutting I guess

Cool

Blue/Ebony gets my vote as well. I like the dark leather interior and have always wanted a metallic blue exterior.

I'm kinda partial to the dark grey (anthricate or something)... Sweet color. Too bad it's not a Type-S color. I wonder if the new blue colors will populate over to the CL in the '02 MY in November. I've heard from inside sources that the blue will be identical to the SEMA blue.

I too like the slightly darker colors. I've never liked black per say. I think Anthricate would be a great color w/ a grey interior would look sweet, but they don't make that, yet! I liked the "fern" color. not 2 hep on the parchment interior? Oh well, for 260 HP any color maybe worth it

Based on the color chip at the dealer I thought the TL-S blue was a little bright. But it looks GREAT on the LA Auto Show car. Funny that it's hard to judge how a whole car will look based on a 1"x1" plastic chip.

If you want a more unique color, don't order silver or white--they are #1 & #2 in popularity for new cars. Silver alone accounts for 18% of all new cars sold. Least popular color--gold.

I'm reviving this topic once again because I am extremely torn at this point betwee two colors for the Type S: Dark Emerald Green and White Diamond Pearl. I love both colors and each has its drawbacks in my opinion.

The White looks really classy and easy to clean. The Green looks slick as long as it is clean and shiny. I like that you can't see as many of the dark lines on the dark green as you can see on the white. The White is real pearl like and it has a real creaminess to the color.

In the end, I love both, but can't come up with a final pick. It'll have to last me for many years too! Any advise?

After seeing the ebony interior of the Detroit Auto Show car, I would order any of the exterior colors that allow for parchment interior (only black, green, and white.) I think the "black wood" (aka "bowling ball") trim is really, really ugly and cheap looking. I can't understand how any automotive designer could look at that trim and think it looks classy or sporty.

Hold on...I have an idea .................................................. ......... just smoked some weed, and ya know, when you're really stoned the "black wood" does look kinda good.

I'd go with the white over the green. Although the green looks real nice, for some reason it reminds too much of the honda accord (maybe b/c my mom's accord is dark green)

Personally I'm leaning towards the blue, but the bright blue from the auto show pics is a bit flashy for me.

good luck picking.

As much as I hate to go with the 'ordinary', I like the look of the silver/ebony. Still deciding between that and the aegean blue..

This would not be an issue if they kept that Laguna Green. I think that was a great color, fairly low maintenance, and not black interior. I would have gotten that color in a heartbeat.

Alas, I guess I will stick with the green I ordered. The white it actually very common...like the camry solara

I think the green will always be a classic color and will not look like a fad color in later years (my integra screams mid 1990's with the Paradise blue green teal color)

I own a Black 2000 TL. Have any of you noticed the black paint used on the TL (US Paint) is different than the cars manufactured in Japan? I refuse to buy any color car, other than black, but I simply HATE the blue "sparkles" in the TL's nighthawk black. I used to own a Black 1997 Civic, and it too had "sparkles", but they were smaller and silver! It looked like it had a permanent gloss...it was beautiful. I wish the TL's would use the Japanese black paint like on all the Honda's. Am I the only one that hates this???

The sharpest colors on the new TL-S, in my opinion, are: Silver, White Diamond Pearl, or Black!

Oh man, that paradise blue/green/turqoise Integra was an option for me too back in '95. Ended up with a black one instead though. Black is nice when clean but a pain to keep it that way.

If the TL-S came in yellow w/ebony interior i would trade in mine today! I may have even considered trading it in for Fire Pepper Red. But they don't so i have no problem keeping my 2000 FPR Just wondering if that six disc, in dash stereo will fit the 99-01 TL's?

I've had four black cars and one dark green Legend Coupe. Now I've got a silver '01 TL and I'm really happy. The silver shows the lines of the TL really well and it makes a great alternative to my habitual black choice. When the silver gets dirty (like now with all the rain in LA) the car still looks great. Plus, tint the windows and go with the black leather interior and you've got a really sweet ride you never regret.

On a side note, I just put CL-S wheels on my TL and it is such a huge improvement over the stock ones. For those of you who have a relatively stock TL, I highly recommend upgrading your wheels. I would have been really jealous of all those TL-S' that are coming soon, but now I'll be OK.

Mine is the emerald green... my favorite color. But it looks dirty ALL THE TIME, except when I clean it.

If you live in a place where roads get messy (like Columbus OH), get a lighter color. I wish I had chosen white.

I wouldn't pick any color where I was forced to take the ebony interior... just too stark looking.

i just placed an order on the TL-S w/Nav, and i got it with Silver/Ebony. think silver is the easiest to keep clean and looks the best (besides black). anyway, just my 10 cents.

Silver/ebony. Honda designs look crisper in light metallics, IMHO. Mostly due to the lack of character lines on the side panels. This is highlighted by the dark colors, whereas the light colors use light refraction to create more visual excitement.

Compare to BMW's and the LIncoln LS, 3which have strong character lines and look great in dark colors.
