Cold Cathodes Installed
Finally installed my cathodes today. I put one cathode tube on each side up front. One on driver and one on the passenger side. Because the white wires on each cathode were too short, i extended the white wires to allow me to place each cathode where i wanted it and still be able to reach to the dome light wires. The wire i used to extend the white wires as well as the black and red wires that go into the inverter was 18.2 gauge wire from Radio Shack. It worked like a charm. After extending each of the cathodes wires, once i turned them on, both cathodes lit up all the way and were not any dimmer then the way they come. They were fully lit and very bright just the same as the way they were before i extended the wires on them. I then tapped into the dome lights wires and WALA, they come on when the doors open and fade out with the dome light when the doors are closed. They fade out without any problem whatsoever. There is no flicker or anything. Solid constant light and a smooth consistent fade out. I placed the passenger side cathode in the crack between glove box outside face and the plastic air box. Was able to stick it right to the plastic. The Cathode on the driver side, i had to tie wrap it to a couple bundles of other wires to get it to where i wanted it. When you see the lighting in person, it looks alot nicer then it does in the pics. In the pics the driver side is not as bright as what the camera shows. Cameras tend to really exagerate white especially when theres nothing but black all around the white area, but in person its a nice suttle lighting. I adjusted both sides cathode placements to be just about the same brightness of lighting in each of the two the footwells. All in all, it looks very nice i think and i have all the wiring tucked away and hidden perfectly. I'll probably do a little D.I.Y. on this mod possibly.

you must have missed that part...
actually that is pretty cool jpadilla. it's the same as the luxury lights in the footwells that Lexus cars have and is done correctly by coming on and going off with the dome light. to each his own man, and you really do hate a lot. nice knowing we have such wonderful members on this site who give constructive criticism, not being complete jerks. ONCE AGAIN, FUCK ALL YOU HATERS WHO HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO SAY. THAT OTHER MEMBER WHO POSTED IN HERE IS CORRECT THAT THE WHITE LIGHTING IN THE FOOTWELLS IS NOT A BAD THING. NEWER MODEL CARS ARE COMMING WITH IT STOCK NOW, and the whole purpose of it is not because i cant see the pedals DUMB FUCK, its for the classy curtesy light look and thats it. ITS NOT MENT TO WOW YOU and its not ment to stick out to the average car person. It should appear as if the lighting down there is normal and came with the car. If someone says, you put neons in there then that means you did not do a good job at all and it looks bootlegged which my install is not. If you see it in person you would know what im talking about.

Whats the point? Were you having a hard time finding the pedals?
