Cold Air Intake recommendations

I'm interested in adding a cold air box. I'd like to know what brand you guys recommend. My goal is to add a little horsepower and a throatier tone. TIA

I have the AEM CAI and it sounds great. When you hit the Vtec it sounds like an animal.

I have an AEM CAI as well, and I could clearly vouch for it. It sounds absolutely amazing once you hit VTEC, it sounds really mean (like if you are on the street and in VTEC, people get scared and look at you like ''what the hell is that?'')

From what I've gathered, the Injen CAI offers a bit more HP gains and it sounds a little louder at idle than the AEM CAI but it is a little more expensive. The Comptech Icebox is a different shape from the other two (it's literally a box) and it is supposed to offer the greatest HP gains of all the three. As for the sound, I'm not sure.

I may not be right but just do a search, from what I've read over here this is what I've gathered.

if you choose between aem and injen... GET THE INJEN. i have the AEM and the fitment was GARBAGE. i had to cut it to make it fit and bend a piece of metal so it wouldnt rub against the fender inside the engine bay.

Injen, all the way. I've heard too many stories about AEM brackets breaking off, poor fitment, bad customer service, and what not. Just my opinion. The comptech icebox is not as loud as the other CAI's. How much sound does it make....I don't know.

I've got the Comptech Ice Box and it might not add as much sound as the other two, but it still sounds great and supposedly adds the most power (which is what I was going for). Additionally, it looks completely stock, even the Acura technicians didn't notice!

It was my understanding the the AEM V2 offered the most amount of gain and it has the biggest growl.

Anyone care to confirm that?

Thanks, guys. I went with the Injen (part no: RD1480 in Jet Black). I'm going to have a friend help me install it when it comes in.

the AEM V2 is only for the regular TL. NOT for the type s. i am not sure if there is an injen available for the regualr TL. the AEM V2 is NOT available for the type s. there IS an Injen cai and an AEM cai available for the type s. regardless, i would NOT go for the AEM, given my experience.
