Has anyone tried a coilover setup on their TL-S? I am trying to decide between the ZEAL Type B2 coilovers and the Apexi WS coilovers. Has anyone tried either and what is your reveiw on them? thanks guys!

I installed APEXi coilover on my TL-S...it handles very nice....personally, I like it so far....and the price is pretty reasonable...I believe the best coilover is made by Tein (if I am not spell it wrong ...however they did not make one for our car yet....

The Apexi will drop up between 4-4.5'...i just dropped mine 2" front and rear and it still left about 2 more inches to be adjust...I'll put my wheels this tuesday...I'll send you a picture how it looks...

Thanks for the info, they aren't dampening adjustable are they? That is one factor I am taking into consideration since the Zeal coilovers offer dampening as well.

thanks,

eric

Per 540i's comment I was set on buying the APEXi's for only $840 but is dampening adjustable really that important? I'm not a track driver just the average street enthu. The difference in price is my main concern but not the only one. I've definately learned with all the cars that i've fixed up (way back in highschool and all) that it's best to do it right the first time

I have the Apexi Coilovers on my 99 TL and it makes a world of difference in handling. My TL is dropped 3" with rims. I can take corners way faster than before. And the ride quality is pretty close to stock (which I was amazed about).

I have never tried or ridden in a car with either Zeal, Nex, or Tein so i can't compare them to the Apexi. I know Tann (member here) used to have the Nex Coilovers on his TL. Maybe he can compare the two or anybody else that has any experience between them.

BTW, my main concerns were the adjustability, ride quality, and price. Therefore the Apexi came out in first place for me.

Nice Setup

Hey thanks for all the info guys, I am getting my White Diamond 2002 TL Type S next week and looking at the S37Ks as well. However my concern is that 18", which is the largest size they come in will be too small for the car since it has humongous wheel wells.

Zeal B6 Coilovers are sweet but you pay for the performance as well. I know that they make the B2s for the TL but the coilovers are made to order.

I live in Vancouver and I drive to downtown everyday and am concerned that if I put a 35-profile tire I might bend the rim in potholes.

Astroboy>>>I am very interested in putting the same setup you have in your car. How much did you get your Zeal B6s for? Can you foward me your email address, maybe I can get some info from your experience with the TL-S.

Thanks,

InspireS

Zeal vs. Apexi Coilovers

Astroboy, any particular reason you bought the B6 over the B2 Zeals? With the B2 Zeals you have both ride height and dampening adjustability. I know the B6 is the top of the line you can get for the TL-S, but did you ever consider the Apexi coilovers? And what made you go with the Zeals?

I just sold my heavily modded 98 Volvo S70 T5, going from Turbocharges 315hp to NA 260 hp will taking a little getting used to. But the first money spent on the TLS will be the coilovers and then the decision between 18s or 19s.

Can you give me some input?

Thanks

Inspire S
