Clunking sound when cold
Hey there everyone, I'm 19 have a well cared for 2003 Acura TL-P with 50,xxx miles. Winter is finally here in PA and I go to school in one of the areas that gets the most snow and coldest temps. Car starts up great during cold temps but as soon as I begin to drive any moderatley or sharp left or right turn results in a clunking nose, even under low to moderate accelation. It seems to stop after a few min of driving and is non-existent at temps over 32. Is this early signs of CV Joint failure or something else? Thanks in advance

Sounds like it. Have you verified what side of the car its coming from?

I would inspect all ball joints for looseness or play. If every thing checks out then i would say its a good possibility that its the ball joint. Have you looked at them yet? have the boots torn or any grease leak out?

Unfourtnatly im not able to check under the car, we've got about 2 feet of snow..... I should be home in a few days though, I'll check then. If it is in fact the ball joint is there a way to tell which(upper or lower) is bad? and a reliable website to purchase one through.
