do you have new springs? I too have the same noise with the same conditions; usually when I hit smaller but more sharp bumps (separated pavement) after I got my Comptech springs on. My rear sway seems very tight still and I cant seem to find any rub marks anywhere on the rear suspension from something hitting...it really seems like it is coming from somewhere up higher - like around the rear deck area.

I have the same issue. Small and big bumps, I heard clunking from front wheels. I took it to the shop. They said, I had freeplay in my brake calibers, so they are in the process of replacing it.

rear for mine - and I would think his also because it is somewhat common for that noise to occur after a spring install - but I havent figgured out how to fix it yet!

I had a strut replaced on my '99 due to a clunking sound over small bumps.
