Close call
Well... I'm kind of embarrassed about this, but I'm going to post it anyway for your amusement.
I was kind of bored earlier so I decided to take off the IM/TB so I could clean out teh IM, TB, IACV, EGR port. I did everything and put it back together and it started to get dark on me as I was finishing. My light kept dying on me so it was kind of hard to see (dumb.. I know, I know).
I got everything back together and went to start and it did then kind of sputtered and stalled. I tried to crank a few more times and it wouldn't start. I'm thinking to myself... I was probably being dumb and hooked up the wrong hose somewhere.
I went to take off the intake tube and a good bit of coolant poured out
It wasn't coming from either of the tubes going to the CAI.. those are pretty obvious and I know for a fact that those were right. I do some further investigating and look at the TB and the IACV was mounted on backwards. I guess one of the coolant hoses that was going to the IACV was shooting coolant inside the TB and it was being sucked into the IM.
I took the IM back off and poured a good cup of coolant out of the IM. I looked down into the motor itself and didn't really see any standing fluid. I took off the middle spark plug on the front and it looked like it had some coolant. I pulled all 6 plugs and put the IM and TB back on then started it up to shoot out anything that was in there.
I bypassed the coolant line that was going to the TB. Is this right?
bottom of IM/TB

under intake

Then I put all the plugs back in and double checked to see if everything was right and started it up. It was rough for ~3/4 of a second then smoothed out and was fine. Smoke came out of the exhaust for a few minutes like I had just Seafoamed, but it's fine now.
Ok, laugh all you want...

TB = throttle body
IACV = idle air control valve
EGR port = exhaust gas recirculation port

No Flame Only!!! because you are not the first!
Its something that needs to be included in the revised DIY for EGR cleaning
Anyone who has special cautions on the thermoblock install or egr cleaing- stuff that went horribly wrong when you did it- PM me with info please- (no names will be used)- just gathering info to make new DIY threads on several subjects. Things like mark the electrical connectors under the TB 1 and 2 so they get hooked up correctly, Watch the little hose passenger side under manifold like to get stuck on, Leave the TB on the manifold and remove after its on the workbench,,,,,
Whatever you have learned and would like to share to prevent others headaches.
Anyone who wants to work on said project of fixing the DIYs and has free time and computer skills- please PM me
