climate control problem same temp for all settings
climate control problem same temp for all settings
I have no idea if the oiler jet recall has anything to do with this but it was replaced about a week ago and the car came back to me with air intake lines not connected most likly not a problem with my climate control. The system does blow hot air, althought it the same from 19-32 temp does not get anywarmer or colder. however at 18 it does get cold i am wondering what could be the solution with this problem and what parts needed if anyone has went through this by the way the car is an 02 tl-p cdn model if that make any differance. thanks
Wow, I had to read the message three times to understand it
Anyhow, check to make sure that the damper is doing its job (regulates cold and and heater core air). Try this:
(1) With the car off, turn the key to the accessory position so that the climate control is usable.
(2) Turn the CC on FULL AUTO.
(3) Turn the fan speed to LOW (not auto anymore) and keep the car silent (no music!)
(4) Next, WHILE LISTENING, turn the Temperature knob from 61 Degrees to its max and back again, etc. You should hear the mechanical sound of the stepper motor from inside the dash that opens/closes the baffle door.
If you don't hear a noise, this motor is most like broken or stuck in a position and can't regulate the temperature anymore. Since your air is still warm (and presuming you live in a now cold climate), I'd bet $$ that yours is shot.
