Clifford Alarm System

I'm a day or two away from purchasing a Clifford Avant Gaurd 4 and am surprized to hear that installation costs more than the damn system itself! I'm buying it for $489 with shipping and I don't have much more $ to waste on installation. My goal is to spend from $100-$200 but I ask myself if there's any of it that I can do by myself... Does anyone know how difficult it is to wire a system like the avant gaurd? I know there are going to be things that I would never be able to install but can I install like half of it myself? What is my best solution?

Thanks,
Tom.

ALSO, I'm gettin a tint in a week. I'm lookin at that film that has a higher percentage of metal so it gives the reflective look. I have to choose between 14% and 38%. Which would be more worth the $260 im spending?
Thanks again.

Sup,

I'd pay the extra money to make sure the alarm gets installed properly. To me a quality install is very important.

I suggest you save up some more money.

Anyone that says they can install it for less than $500 is either outta ther mind or will fvck it up so bad you'll be complaining for years about it.

I have the Intelliguard 9000, which is not as complicated as the Avantguard and it took all day (8 hours) to install the thing.

No you cannot install it yourself. Do not even attempt it. For one, it'll void the warranty.

Where are you buying the alarm from? Not many ceritifed Clifford dealers will install an alarm that was not purchased from them. Check it out first before you spend your money on the alarm.

if you install half and let shop install what you can't, then it's gonna cost even more money! trust me...it's like those wacky signs you see at electronic shops...$20/hr normally, $40 if you worked on it, and $60 if you watch! but i agree, let the pros do it all so you can enjoy the alarm to the fullest.

If you don't have the factory or Helm service manuals, don't even think about installing the alarm by yourself.
