Clicking sound when turning..solved!

Some Acuras and Accords make a clicking sound when turning, especially when the car has been driven foro a few minutes. It is not a hub or bearing or CV joint. I had a friend with a 2000 TLO and it was driving him nuts. Here is what I found:

The Hondas are susceptible to corrosion of the hubs, and the rust can rub against the wheel, causing the click. In extreme cases, the wheel can be hard to remove, maoking changing a flat a nightmare.

Here is what we did - removed the wheel, vcleaned the hub, then sanded lightly, washed with soapy water, let dry.

You then want to coat the wheel that contacts the hub with a high temperature grease - I used expensive UREA grease, which Honda makes for the throw out bearing on the NSX (which I service myself). Perhaps anti-seize or a high-temp wheelo bearing grease would also work, and much cheaper. Coat it completely, but not extravagantly, as the excess will spin off and you will be cleaning the wheels and body a lot.

This eliminated the noise comploetely, and got me a free lunch to boot!

Here is a tip if the hubs won't come off: slightly loosen the lug nuts, then move the car forward a few feet - this willo usually break the hub free.
