cleaning tip

Hey guys, I was just at the autoparts store today. I needed something to remove the sticky stuff left from the tape I used to cover a crack on the spoiler. The guy said the best bet was to use WD-40. He said it was not harmful to the body of the car. We it worked out perfectly. I also used it on other sticky residue of the car and windshield (stuff like sapp). Well I just thought I would spead this tip to the rest of you guys.

i don't know... for some reason i just don't think WD-40 is meant for spraying on paint to clean it...

Can anyone confirm JeffyTL's tip as legit???

Oh, and welcome to the forums...

I used it when I took off the A C U R A & the 3.2 TL off my trunk and it worked great.

As long as you don't do it in the sun and let it sit there. I would HIGHLY recommend putting a good coat of polish/wax over the spot you cleaned.

Goo gone

When debadging my TL I used "Goo gone" instead of WD-40. I also cleaned and waxed the area immediately after applying the "Goo gone".

I don't recommend WD-40 for lubrication...

...but it will remove road tar without damaging your paint.
