i've taken my headlights apart 3 times now trying to clean them. i seem to have a problem cleaning the inside of the plastic clear lens. whenever i clean it, doesn't matter what i use, it leaves streaks. does anyone have any recommendations on what to use to clean the inside of them? something thats for plastic and won't leave marks? thanks

 

Plastic polish is what you would normally use on the outside
so its your best bet inside too

If good at it- you can make a living blacking out headlights for TLs!!!

i hate doing it b/c it's such a pain. as soon as i get it right, i'm not taking them apart again..unless another problem occurs. hopefully not. thanks for the info

 

the outside has a layer on it, kinda like paint...the plastic is the base coat, then there's a clear coat over it. the inside doesn't have the protectant layer on it. this is why those headlight restoration kits are only for the outside of the lens. are you sure the plastic polish will be safe on it?

 

I have seen the Mothers plastic polish used on boats- the big flex plastic windows, and polished with the Mini Powerball- they went from filthy scrathed to crystal clear in seconds

Buy replacement JDM style housings on ebay
