Question Claybar question

Regarding the use of claybar on your TL, will it cause or actually reduce swirl effects in the paint finish? Sure would love to keep looking like new as long as possible. Thanks all.

Claybar got nothing to do with causing or reducing swirl marks. Zaino got a swirl and minor scratch reducing wax dont know how it works yet but i will tommorow ;-)

yep Zaino Z5 gets the swirl out. Do a few coats of Z5 and then end up with a coat or two of Z2

claybar only removes contaminants (sp?) that are on top of your paint layer.. great for tree sap and cooked on bird crap. It removes heavy water spots to a degree.

I got my swirls and (remaining) waterspots off using a good workout with Carnuba wax. By hand of course.. my black beauty will never feel the rub of a wax applicator machine!

swirls are often cause by an over enthusiastic amateur with an orbital buffer. the trick to buffing using the orbital is, not to press on the buffer but just let the weight of the buffer do the buffing. I just glide it from side to side. use enough polish to coat the surface but not too much that the polish splatters off the side. If you use meguires, like me, you can mix step 1 'wax cleaner' and step 2 'polish' in your buffer
