CL front end?

has anyone done/seen this conversion done on a TL? anyone know if it would be a bolt on deal? i think i kinda like the 2g CL front better than the 2g TL, but i like the TL rear better, plus its a 4door

That would be interesting. I haven't heard of this before, but I think it would look OK.

The CL front looks just a bit more aggressive to me. And I agree, I like the TL rear better though. I wouldn't do the conversion for my car though, but I would like to see someone do it.

It msot likely would require newe front fenders, lights, grille bumper, lights and a few othe rsmall items such as clips. I am not sure on the Front fenders because i don't know weahter the CL lights are the same deminsion at the fender's opening.

yea thats the obvious part.. im wondering if all that stuff (fenders, bumper, headlights, hood, grill) from a CL would bolt right on to a TL chassis.. with or without needing to use a CL radiator support

Why don't you just ask Kris?

I'm pretty sure his two biggest secrets are a supercharger and a CL front end in the works. But thats just me...

if you could ifnd some ship scans of the TL and CL stuff, you can compare mounting locations and see if it is going to work. I would also recommend you get parts from a place where you can return them if you decide it is too much work to accomplish. just my

I thought about going the other way, getting a CL-S six speed and then making it look like a two door TL, but I didn't take much time on the chop because I was being lazy.

It's definitely possible. Don't know if its just bolt-on or not or if the doors/fenders match up but people have figured out how to attach JDM front-ends to their Integras. Plus the CL/TL are supposed to be similar to each other so why not?

To my knowledge no one has done it. I was thinking about doing it cause i like the front (with the ronjon) of the CL better. I can tell you it most likely wont be just a bolt on like the 02-03 isnt to the 99-01.

i thought that was a straight bolt on?

heres how i look at it, even tho it may be pointless.. every time honda has done a facelift, u could bolt on the new front... take integras, the 98+ bumper and headlights bolt right to the 94-97 chassis. the jdm front also bolts to any 94-01 integra, just have to change the radiator support.. the whole 99-00 civic front bolts right onto the 96-98 civic.. i think even the 05-06 rsx front bolts right onto the 02-04, and i think u only need hte bumper and headlights for that one.

Correct, but in all of those situations you are taking 1 car's front and putting it on the same car, just a different style. The TL and CL are different cars, just very alike. Most likely it would be a very CLOSE match, but you would probably have to do some cutting and welding on the k-frame or completely replace it, which would be a pain. If I had the money, I'd do it for fun.

Eventually someone will do it because there is always somebody who wants to do something completely original. This hasn't been done, so it will be.

I already have my money set on who its gonna be...

I thought you were asking how would CL front look on TL, not other way around??? Or do I need to be slapped in a face

You were right, I just had chopped my TL into a CL to see how it would look and posted it.

I suggest you do a search. The TL is not a straight bolt on between the years. There is modifications that need to be done to make it fit correctly

The all new CL TL. It took me ten min and zero dollars, but the painter didn't do a good job of paint matching what a loser.
