cigarette burn in carpet

475 miles on my TL-S that I bought last Thursday. I am treating my seats with lexol and I look on my carpet. Small burn hole from cigarette ash on the rug. I do not smoke and have had one friend smoke a cig while leaning into the window talking to me. I definitely did not notice a cherry fall off...and believe me I was looking!

Anyhow, I am sooo bummed about this. Any suggestions on what to do???

Call dealer and ask to fix it? Dont call dealer and call upholsterer?
Someone told me to cut some carpet fibers from under the seat and drop elmers glue in the hole and fill it with fibers...
I want to fix it right though......

Thoughts?

If its in the carpet just go to the dealer and pick up a new one. If its not big dont worry about it. Noone looks at the carpets...

If all else fails, depending on how deep the burn is, you can use a razor blade and cut out the burnt fibers. Just take your time and cut out ONLY the burnt fibers;you can't go back once you cut out too much...GOOD LUCK!!

its in the carpet, not the floor mat. i just made an appt. with a vinyl repair guy. he said he would take care of it for 30 bucks...and if the carpet fibers are long, it will look 100%. I think mine are not too long...but not too short either. We'll see how it comes out. I know this dude does good work.

For 30 bucks, it's worth it. Saves you the headache. Keep us posted and keep your friend 25 feet away from the car next time.

Dang... $30 is not too bad at all. I don't usually let people who smokes come close to my car since I don't want the smoke to get into the cabin and I can't stand smoke either. Next time post a sign on your window that says. "You smokie, no talkie"

Cheers !!!

Just got back from Dr. Vinyl. Funny name. All he did...was take some black carpet fibers that matched....slice them up with a razor blade and drop some silicon into the hole and fill it in with the fibers. When he finished, I couldnt barely find the spot..so it was a job well done.

Once I saw how easy it was I said "30 bucks?" And he said "20."
I am happy again. Now I can spend my days thinking about Mods again.

Not worth it, if something like this makes you mad, then what will happen if you find a ding on your car one day?
