Chip for type s ( looking for some input )
I am looking into putting a chip in the 03 type S. I ran across this one, and wanted to know if anyone had input. This one says " 50 hp gain"... Wow, that sounds a little unrealistic in my mind. I was thinking more like 8-10 hp.

haha that's a good one. No there is no replacement chip for our car. Never has been, never will be.
The unichip and Greddy e-manage are piggyback units but are only needed if you are heavily modified (s/c, turno, etc.). Hooking one up to an umodified car will do virtually nothing (except drain your wallet).
DO NOT waste your money.

Rejeckt, how about you fill us in about this chip ? Do you really notice a difference in terms of performance and gas mileage ? How long have you had this chip installed ? And do you own a TL-P or TL-S ?

Seriously, but not really...I heard all these chips do is trick your car into thinking it is drawing in cold air regardless of actual temp. Even if that is true...just go for the real thing with a CAI, or at a minimum, just remove the intake resonator.
^doubt it. I've never seen this so called chip... but it doesn't matter if the engine think its getting cold or warm air, it has to actually get the air to determine AFR. You can't just program a car to get perfect AFR. Even if you tune with a real solution, your winter and summer tune will be different, track and daily - different.
The gains are outrageous, if it's too good to be true, then it probably is. A supercharger cost $4500 +/- and gives you 40-60 hp, do you really think $80 bucks would yield the same? with more gas milage? and better idle?
OP, your best bet is to start off with headers for added hp, best bang for buck for our cars.
