Checking VIN for tranny replacement...

I'm looking at a 2000 TL-P, and can't seem to track down how to find out if the transmission has been replaced already. Is it as simple as calling a nearby Acura dealership, or is there an online place to check or what? Thanks!

should be that simple, almosst any acura/honda dealership would be able to tell the history on the car if you have a VIN

there's a link on Acura.com that takes you to the owners link and there you can type in your VIN number and it will have all recalls on your car.

Okay, thanks...just checked that out, as well as called the Acura dealership.

Looks like the one I'm looking to purchase had a transmission replaced in 5/03. From what I've been reading on here, if it's gone once, DON'T buy it...is this right?

Edit: it has 69k miles

no there is no reason not to buy it, I mean you have the 100K extended warranty that now applies to our TL's. You just never know I guess
