Wassup guys. How should I tint my tail lights? The whole thing or just the red part? I like it half tinted but it'll be annoying cause I have to measure it perfectly. Here are some photoshop pictures of how it would look.

I think half tinted looks better. Kinda like the half tinted BMW 5-series look. But gimme your opinions guys. And how should I do it? Paint or tint? I was going to buy some pre-cut tint on eBay but that's for the whole tail. If I only want to tint the red part how should I do it? Or should I just give it to a professional and forget about it.

And I'm a noob at photoshop so please no photoshop lessons.

 

Just tint the white and leave the red alone. It looks sex on AM.

Really? Just tint the white part? I just photoshoped it and I think it looks kinda weird. I'm most likely going to tint just the red part unless nobody likes it then I'll have to compromise.

 

I kinda really like tinting the red...
With some tint on the windows... I think it needs the window tint to complete the look.

I personally love stock <3, but in your case I'm liking the half red.

I guess with tint if it doesn't look right there is always GooGone.

Yeah. I was going to get tints. But NYC only allows 70% tint which is like not having tints at all. I wanted to do 35 all around. Was going to do 50 front just in case but thats still illegal and I don't like different tint shades. Didn't want to risk getting 4 tint tickets worth like $150 for each window.

I really wanna get a OEM kit and drop it but I'm a student with no job. Can't ask for too much.

 

 

Where I live you can do anything just nothing to the front 3 windows.
They will sometimes let you go with a luxury car...
I've heard of cops making you pull off the tint in front of them!

Do you race on a track? I know there is some circuit that requires that bumper light - or is it just from taking off the trunk spoiler or something else.

There is a reflector / light in the bumper. If you race, sometimes you need to have one in the bumper. He might have just put it there to fix a hole or whatever...

Im in NJ and I have all my windows tinted. I'd rather pay the ticket than to have a half ass job. Cop cars have tints... lol.. Why are they any different. Full tints FTW!

i hate driving behind people with blacked out tails during the daytime. you can barely see their lights.

 

I guess the just the white part tinted does look pretty nice. Its like color matched to AM. But he also has a kit on this car and everything so it's hard to tell how it would look if the car was stock.

I like stock tails but I really wanna tint the red part. Black Grey and White my favorite colors and blue.

i have a 00 TL which i blacked the tail lights out on. i did a couple coats, let dry, wet sanded until i achieved perfect look (that i like) cleaned surface, and slapped on some clear. i'll post pictures after

Yep, in Alberta we can tint the shit out of the rear windows but its illegal to have any tint on the windshield or drivers/passengers window. Lots of people do it, but if your young or your car is flashy get ready to shell out some $$ for tickets

 

And for the record, In Canada I know people who have been made rip the tint out on the spot. He was giving the officer some serious lip, but it has happened.

 

Ya, the previous owner of my car even had to get it inspected because they didn't like the stock tints as well (I read the police document) (made him go get a red inspection sticker from ICBC) - that's a 150$ process - but now I have a sticker so no more complaining from the cops.
He had bought darn expensive stuff too -

cops aren't allowed to do that. they're to give you a ticket stating when you're supposed to have the tint off by. if a cop honestly told me to rip my tint off, i'd tell him we'd be here for a long time.
