check engine light....

How do I reset the check engine light?

first, why is it on?
an auto parts store can usually read and clear codes for free.

usually they won't, i thought?

to reset CEL, pull clock fuse on passenger side fuse box, - located on passenger end of dash-

STOP!!!!!!!! dont clear anything!! its information

you get a CEL because the car thinks something is wrong
Parts stores everywhere except California are allowed and will ck the CEL via code reader
plugs right in and downloads codes
Codes are CLUES not diagnosis- have to use some logic and knowledge specific to the TL to get the right part
report codes back here along with any symptoms car is having,,miss, hard start etc, miles and any recent work need to be stated to further help

once part is replaced do the clock fuse pull- to force a master reset of the ECU

heh. i'm sure he doesn't just want to reset it just for the hell of it

(err...well...i certainly hope not)
