Check Engine Code: P0743
Check Engine Code: P0743
"Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Electrical"
Tried searching and searching for this one specific code and was wondering if anybody has come across this and has a solution for how to fix it? My dash gives me a check engine light, tcs, and blinks the D5 light and it only occurs after a few minutes of driving after clearing out the code. Other problems when the light comes on is aggressive, long shifts, and I require more throttle to get the car rolling. Kind of stuck on what to do as of now or what to look for.

A web search on the code reveals lot's of info. One such link is:

The recommended approach follows:
1. First, they check to make sure the trouble code is legitimate by resetting, it driving the vehicle, and seeing if it comes back (sounds like you already did this)
2. Mechanic will then check the wiring and connections to make sure everything is connected properly and there are no issues
3. The mechanic will also check to make sure there is plenty of transmission fluid, and that it is not dirty or contaminated (you may want to do the 3x3 drain/fill to ensure your fluid is clean.)
4. The mechanic will check for blockages in the transmission fluid passages (plenty of posts on cleaning the solenoid screens, do this with the 3x3 drain/fill)
5. The mechanic may need to replace the torque converter clutch solenoid or the torque converter
6. In rare cases, they may need to replace a transmission control module or PCM
You should also search on AV6 swap to get a jump on how others have fixed trans issues. You may find yourself here at some point.
