my cousin has a 98 accord v6 coupe. his transmission fluid looks totally burnt and brownish in color. i drove in his car..what a piece of sh*t.. his front motor mount was totally broken and he was blaming it on transmission. car has only 96xxx miles on it but it looks like it has more than 200xxx miles lol! car was painted and you can tell from under the hood! is there any place to buy cheaper than the dealer or dealer is the best bet? can he do 3x3 drain and fill? how many quarts are needed to completely replace the old fluid? thanks

see if your local dealer is an azine sponsor,
honda dealer locations carry the same stuff for a dollar or two less
cash talks! saves them 3%+ on transaction fee with credit cards

If you cant find a good deal on Z1, then go with Amsoil ATF. Amsoil is roughly 11 bucks a quart.

The Acura part # for ATF-Z1 is 082009001. Price is per QT price.

These guys are great; you can buy a $4 bulb and they still ship Fedex free

well you can do like i did and enter the wrong door of the acura dealership (the door to the maintenance shop) and just ask for it and the guy will give it to you for free. it may help to have some grease/dirt on your shirt as well.

haha so i go to my local acura dealership and ask the lady where to buy the fluid at. but it just so happens her shirt was unbuttoned so i was distracted a bit (may any free of this sin cast the first stone) and didnt listen to her. so when she got done talking i smiled and walked somewhere. I ended up outside the store(?idk how that happened) then found some door and walked in. I was in the middle of the garage. there were three guys trying to put on a license plate and when all of a sudden this guy about early 20s was like "hey how can i help ya" i said "what do i have to do to get some ATF around here?" i had on a gray shirt with some dirt on it and then he asks me how much....i replied five quarts. he gives me a box and says happy birthday. without saying anything i went back to my car hoppity doo and drove off. i went back a week later and did the same thing to get two more quarts after i had bought two at the honda dealership. so technically i didnt steal nor lie, i just asked and received. 7 quarts for free.
