Changing plugs in Philly?
Hi,
Anyone know a mechanic in the area that'll do this job? I've quote from several shop and they charge $80 to $100 to change the spark plugs??!!
They claimed that it's hard to change the rear plugs?!
I have a set of NGK IX and want to put them on since my car's almost 55k......
Thanks!!

it's not hard, should take about 15 minutes.
pull the wire for the plug, use a wrench with an extension to unscrew the plug. place some antiseize compound on the plug and spread it around (99 cents from auto store). this helps to preven the plugs from getting stuck. put the pulg back in and tourqe it in a bit more then hand tight. if you have a torque wrench and the spec, that's best, but otherwise get it so it's not too tight otherwise it'll be a pain to remove in the future. put some waterproofing silicon on the wire (99cents from auto store) and reattach it to your spark plug.
Make sure to do each plug one at a time so you don't screw up the connection to the distributor and have to figure out the timing.
buy the chiltons or haynes manual if you're confused. it'll explain better then I just did.
