Changing Engine Oil

Will changing engine oild using the oil suction canister pump through the engine oil dipstick be efficient? or Is it better to drain it through oil pan drain bolt? Thanks

Using the pump is sufficient, but it's probably best to use the drain bolt.

Why do you want to use a oil suction canister pump ???? You might suck back up to the engine all the dirty partical and you do not want to , right !
Use the oil drain plug .

the hose will go through the oil dipstick tube, straight to the oil pan, so I don't think the particles will get back to the engine. Anyway, I think using the drain plug is better route since particles on the bottom of the oil pan get flush when you drain it, I guess.

You'll need to under the car to change the filter...so why bother with the pump??

Exactly. I always pour in a quart of low quality synthetic with the bolt off to get the extra crap out. It comes out dirty at first, then clean.

I say do it the right way, not the easy way.
