Changed my bulbs and now their f***ed up.

I have a 03 TL-S. I got new bulbs for my low beams and changed them out. After I got done changing them I waited for night time so see my results. Needless to say I was surprised when I turn my lights on and there was light on the trees but not on the ground. I was tryin to mess with it but I couldnt get the bulbs to point back down at the ground. I seached in the DIY thread but couldnt find any answers. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I really want to avoid taking my car to the dealership for such a bonehead mistake. Thanks for your time - Vu

wait till the morning, and use right hand to put it in and kinda reach to the front and adjusting it while you looking at it if that makes ani sense, and there is a lock spring that easy to break so becareful

hmm... sounds like you didn't get the bulbs to lock into place and they shifted when you put them back on the car. When you say low beams I assume you are talking about your HIDS and not your fog lights. Is that correct?

if that's the case, when you put the new hid lights, did you notice that they were angled coming into the housing? if yes, that's probably the problem.

did the external bulb electrode go in the same way?- either on top or bottem, same as you took out the old one?

And is there a reflector plate that goes inside around the bulb and is held by the bulb?
and possibly by a small screw or 2?
The bulb keeping spring latch fully locked into place?

Do NOT twist the bulb in the housing- remove and turn or risk breaking the external nodes insulating sleeve

Its easy to pop the bumper cover off and remove the entire light housing to work on it

^^that's what I would do. Take off the whole headlight and avoid the headache of tryin to fit ur hand in there to remove everything and put it back the same way. Bumper cover removal is stupid easy too..takes like 10 minutes MAX and save you at least 30 of struggle.

I did it by myself but two people and u get it off in like 2 mins flat. I remember doing the same thing when I changes the bulbs on my mom's van. Basically they didn't go into the headlight correctly, consequently altering the direction in which the light was displaced. The light has to hit the right places on the reflector in order for it to go forward. The reflectors are designed specifically for each bulb and its placement so you have to get it in the right spot. Luckily, they also make housings so you can only put them in he right spot correctly as long as you're patient and make sure everything fits exactly how it did before. Let us know when you fix!!

I didn't need any help when I removed the bumper cover to install my CAI, so you don't need 2 people.

Didn't see it mentioned & you probably already know but don't touch the bulb (glass) with your bare hands. If you accidentally do clean it w/ alcohol.

I suggested 2 people so the cover doesnt get dropped on the ground and scratched, and its way easier to install with 2 people because it flexes and needs to fit in just right.

If you dont have a friend, then DIY

^^Put blankets down!! That's what I did..better to be safe than sorry!!
And x2 on the touching the bulb..put gloves on so you don't get any of your oils on them or you'll just have to replace them much sooner than you want to in the future.

After my bro and I took off the bumper it made it way easier to fix the problem, I parked my car next to my cousins 02 TL-S and it lined up perfectly, I'm goin to end up doin the whole process again after I get my new 6000k hid kit from Kaixen. Now I know what I'm doing so it should go smoothly next time.

if you are talking about the chrome inside the head light, i don't think that is a good idea. i mean someone can chime in, but the chrome inside the headlight is what helps reflect light to shine onto the roadway infront of the car. I"m sure you've seen it on some cars... but i think it'll only work with porjectors..
