Ceramic vs. Ferro-Carbon Brake Pads?

I've never heard of Ferro-Carbon pads. How do they stack up performance and durability wise to Ceramic pads? I'm looking at Hawk pads and they are both priced roughly the same. Any recomendations?

Thanks
Itch

Hawk HPS is ferro carbon. Ceramics make less dust but dont stop as well.
I love my RacingBrake ET300 pads- replaced hps pads with them and notice the improvement in stopping power, quietness and lifespan

01tl4tl... do you represent RacingBrake? Every brake thread that comes up you chime in about that particular brand and model of brake.

I love my RacingBrakes- track days, freeway cruising or mountain fun runs- they are always there and dont fade or warp. They have also saved the car several times when the wife isnt paying attention ahead.....she brought the last car home 2 feet shorter so I did a lot of research and found what I feel is best. A happy customer tells their friends!
Many ziners are also using them with big smiles as they casually outbrake someone into the corner~
Other things I found to be good- seafoam-bell helmets, cg-lock seatbelt device- review and pics coming on this newest addittion to my car, pyrotech firesuit, and all the things in my sig.
Others love their particular brand- if you dont- you made a poor buying choice in what I think is the most important part of the car.
I dont work for RB but I can point you to a good dealer for them

I also send people with Brembos who want 1 piece rotors/pads to Josh-Excelerate for Rotoras

Get the hawk HPS and some good rotors you won't be let down. I'm considering changing my front pads to hawks soon myself. Currently I'm running satisfied pro ceramics and I don't notice any difference over stock other than less dust.

Make sure your bed them in too.
From the hawkperformance site itself:
1. After installing new brake pads, make 6 to 10 stops from approximately 30-35 mph applying moderate pressure.
2. Make an additional 2 to 3 hard stops from approximately 40 to 45 mph.
3. DO NOT DRAG BRAKES!
4. Allow 15 minutes for brake system to cool down.
5. After step 4 your new pads are ready for use.

those directions suck as you are NOT supposed to come to a FULL stop- thats the worst thing you can do!!!
read this for a proper bedding session

Actually I just realized that...You should only slow down to 5mph when bedding in the pads.
