CEL codes P1676 and P0505

Hey all,
I recently purchased a 2001 TL 3.2L off of my brother. The car had been running fine for him but it had sat for around two months before I went ahead and took it off of his hands. Yesterday was the first time I was using her and the CEL came on. I figured it was a oxygen sensor or something but then the car started to act crazy. At a stop, the RPMs would be at around 1500 and then if I put her in park she would just keep jumping up to around 2200 RPM and then back to 800 RPM (it would keep doing this). I took her to the local auto parts store and got the codes P0505 and P1676 having to do with the Idle control valve. Could it be that the valve is stuck because it has been sitting for so long?? Does anyone know where I should start? Thanks in advance

Although I'm no pro at this stuff, I'd start by cleaning your IACV first. I'm sure that's what most will suggest to start off with.
Check the DIY thread for finding/doing that

X2 and if that does't work you will proably have to replace it, but it should not be terriable expensive, also after cleaning or replaceing it don't forget to do the idle learn procedure (there is a little bit more to it but this is the basics) start it up and let it warm up fully then letting it idle for like 10 minutes with ALL accesories off and it should self relearn the idle

run a can of seafoam or redline fuel cleaner in half a tank of gas to get rid of most of the problem
If that doesnt fix it all, remove the TB assembly and the IAC- idle air control valve is on the bottem side of TB- remove 2 screws to cover and valve- clean- reassemble

May be time for spark plugs too
Whats the current miles?
