get a straight pipe off ebay or take yours off and take everything inside of it out. You will get an Engine light, loose power on the low end, gain 5 up tops and run the risk of your computer thinking the car is running lean/rich thus moddin the gas/air ratios...
lean=boom <---thought you'd like to know.

Hey etxxz,

I received a - P0420 mil (catalytic efficiency error) recently. I cleared it and it did not come back - though I thought that I'd like to start looking for the part in case I do have to replace it. When I did some internet searches for it I didn't come up with any hits. I need to give her a tune up any how - she has around 116k.

Have you ever changed your O2 sensors? They do wear out, and my guess is that a faulty sensor could give you that error as well. I'm no expert on that code, but they're certainly cheaper than a cat.

CSC, the CAT will last forever, that error you got was probably false, dont worry about it.
**if it aint broken dont fix it**
