Ebay, it may not be like VIS or Seibon. I would also suggest to match paint it.

I think it is worth the money since only on Ebay there are about two sellers selling it. No other company makes the cf hoods for our cars. I'm sure that it is not 100% carbon fiber, the bottom part frame should be made out of fiberglass. Still lighter than the stock hood.

The only concern should be fitment, but a professional or someone with some body work skills it shouldn't be a problem.

i called these people last year.. They are the only people that make it for now.. 250 for the hood 220 to ship. So i ask them if i can pick it up, they say yes... It will cost 1/2 the price of the shipping.
so 250 for the hood
and 110 to pick it up.

pretty funny. I am working out a deal with a guy to make these hoods. I gave him a trunk, but he said it wasnt in high demand. Let me know if anybody is interested in the trunk. If i get at least 20 people and are willing to put a deposit on it, im pretty sure i can talk him into it.

Yep, it was the same story with me...

I mean, a lot of Ebay sellers make money off the shipping - but charging people half of the shipping price (220 --> 110) makes the hood come out to be $360, when you're the one going to pick it up... That's a bit too much profit from the shipping charges - and they're not even shipping it out!

I know it's carbon fiber, but it's at the price of some pretty good quality parts from VIS and Seibon that many people have used.

I mean all aftermarket parts will have their fitment issues, especially these made by private shops - but I was so close to driving up to Canada until I realize I'll be paying more for the hood if I had it shipped.

/rant end

But yeah, if someone buys it, please chime in - maybe it's worth it.

I'm thinking pretty hard about it. I'm also ordering the carbon fiber motor cover. Waiting to see what it looks like.

they would get a lot of canadian buyers if they dont charge a pickup fee or shipping fee, 250 is a great price but its retarded to pick up it and pay another 100+

They do that because shipping is where they make a lot of their profit on the product.

^x2 -->

he curses people out, calls them stupid if the parts don't fit - not professional at all... if something's screwed up with the order, don't expect him to solve it to keep up his "good" reputation.

The brooklyn shop says they do custom work - maybe we can have someone volunteer to have their hood make the mold... group buy anyone?

For everyone who's interested - here's the shop that will do it:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-1...item27b16ddabf

We just have to get a good list of names here so that we can negotiate the price with them...

What's our target price? I'm saying since their CF engine cover for us is already $350 obo, I say we should try to get it down to around $400 even.

Who knows, if we get a large list, maybe we'll make it even cheaper.
