OK Acurazine family, I got a problem with my car and I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

My 2000 TL is overheating. Let me explain whats strange to me about the whole thing.

No coolant loss
Both fans come on
Condenser fan comes on with A/C
New Radiator. New Radiator cap
Top and bottom radiator hoses hot
fuses good. Relay good

Here is what I can't figure out. Why does the temp keep going up? The fans pop on for a second but the temp keeps climbing. Fluid levels are good.

Now here is what I noticed. When I park the car the radiator fan comes on for about 10 minutes. I know the fan is supposed to come on but this is different. Its almost immediate. As soon as I turn the car off, the fan kicks on immediately.
Fan Switch? Thermostat? Both?

 

Did the problem start after you replaced the radiator? Why was the radiator replaced? Did you follow the burping procedure?

I would suspect air in the system. Drain the system into a clean bucket and try refilling it "slowly" with the fluid you just drained. Follow the burp procedure.

IMO: Agree with Iggy, but what I don't understand is why the fans come on immediately after shutting the car off. Since the cooling fans appear to be doing what they are supposed to do, this would seem to be an indication that the engine is running hot, in general! Unless it is extremely hot,"ie" 98-105 ambient, the fans in my 03 TLS rarely come on after shutting the engine down. Possibly a faulty thermostat, but, as Iggy says, "burping" the system properly is very important. I'm also curious as why the radiator was replaced in the first place, and or what led up to it's replacement.

 

The radiator was leaking. I was taking my son to school one morning and I noticed that my car was smoking like crazy. I pulled up the hood and there was antifreeze coming out the top part of radiator. I changed it for that reason.

 

I bought the radiator on 8/10/2018. Ironically, I noticed the problem on 9/10/2018. So exactly a month after I installed the radiator, I started noticing my car overheating. Do you think an air bubble will last that long without the car overheating.
