Car frosts up on inside of windshield and takes a long time to warm up
Well, as the title states this has been happening lately.
Temperature approaches 0*C or 32*F at night (not below freezing, usually above).
Ive gathered it could be:
leaking door/window/trunk seals
plugged sunroof drain (checked front two and are fine)
plugged ac drain (took out air filters today)(cant look under car in case tech put bolt in ac drain)
Its not raining lately, just when i go to defrost, the cars inside is completely fogged up or frosted (ice) on the inside of the windshield.
It also takes a long time to defrost ~10 minutes.
If the car is warm, or was driven an hr before it defrosts no problem.
The car has been sitting this past 4 months only being driven 1-3 times per week for trips to the gym (humid air from sweat?)
Anyone come across a similar thing before?

Make sure that you put ac on Full Auto with defroster plus turn on the ac recirculate button. Temp high. Your air conditioner controls defrosting, if it is not operating properly, it will take a long time to clear the windows. Are the rugs damp. Is the bottom of the trunk dry.

Put some news papers under your floor mats for the time being until you find the leak.
The newspaper will absorb moisture rather than it evaporating up onto your windshield.

start with cking coolant level, eliminate a heater core leak as possible
clean the windows inside--plastic off-gassing occurs for years and leaves a cloud on the glass that fogs easily
Use an anti-fog wipe on product (rainx for inside)
But,,, I bet your short trips to the gym - with ac running (defrost turns ac on)
is leaving a moisture puddle in the vents after the short drive
that adds to moisture in cabin overnight = frost in am
Try running cabin fan on high with ac OFF the last few blocks to the house- that dries the ductwork out
also open the rear seat vent- rear of center armrest,,that holds a lot of moisture if left closed
read owner manual on correct defrost procedure--they figured this out while designing the system
no manual with the car? register at www.owners.acura.com
need VIN, free download of owner book, store radio nav codes there and lots of info, ck recalls etc
Everyone has called and ckd on recall status for airbag inflator?
they increased the VIN list,,,again
and most important- are you getting in the car with a hot cup of coffee or similar?
the moisture in that will fog the windows like you cant believe!!
NOTE!!!
acura says if you drive less than 10 miles per trip, thats bad for the car
Cure the moisture that is everywhere with a 45 minute freeway cruise once a month!
the exhaust system gets wet,,engine oil and ps fluid dont get to temp that dries out moisture in there...it needs that nice long hot fluids drive to dry itself out
See all the water dripping from other cars exhaust? same thing happens to us

^ What he said, with the exception of "and most important- are you getting in the car with a hot cup of coffee or similar?"
Is the evaporator box drain clear?

Thanks everyone.
I will give this all a shot.
On a different note...
Unfortunately today, i was working with my dad and in the process of driving the car onto some 2x8' lumber (to look under the car at the AC drain) the front bumper's got partially torn off . The bracket that is part of the fender metal got bent out of shape. Off to the body shop to get that welded and reinforced up

tell that to the poor TL
I had a bad feeling about doing this.
100$ down the drain.
I've looked into ramps all too high to fit, same with jacks.
Cheapest racing jacks 200$.

Ok, Chris, in Wisconson, with the dry north air, you are correct. But oh, my dear friend on the soggy Jersey Shore, home of us Jerseyites, and phony home of Snookie, the beast, the high humidity, demands the use of 'recirculate' button. Simply, the humidity level inside, needs to be lower vs the outside to clear thy windows. Merry Chistmus my young friend

I say the hot drink is most important based on a bad experience,,
assuming all normal leaks etc have been checked
some rainx for inside of glass should stop the prob= if high humidty is the root cause for Tomb

we used the harbor freight jacks at the track BUT carried 2 so when the primary failed at the worst time- we could go to a backup
At home I wouldnt be as concerned~
Im dropped on Teins and 18s with 40profile tires, the plastic ramps made by Rhino
just fit under the nose
If you are slammed, place a piece of wood (1"x4") that will clear the lip -in front of the ramp- as a stepstool for it to ease up to the steep angle

leaky trunk gaskets- excellent suggestion to ck as source of moisture!!
With these cold temps, it helps to lube ALL the rubber gaskets on doors-trunk-hood
with spray silicone -put it on a rag and apply liberally
Give the painted metal the rubber contacts with a wipedown and wax with `quick detailer` spray
some wd or deep creep in the door lock mechanism and key hole will keep them from freezing (never know when the remote may not work!)
prevents freezing together of parts

will go do that today!
i never knew silicone was ok on rubber.
looking at a bottle that ive bought before sure enough its advertised as one of its perks!
http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brows....jsp?locale=en
it might just be the trunk - the metal feels like a bit of condensations' on it.
i also want to get on a lift and look at the ac drain as i remember water was coming out of the vents once this summer.
thanks for the jack idea!
i will check out costco and harbor freight. I think one opened up not to far away from me.
I learned my lesson of not having the jack. trying to save 120$ cost me 100$ and i still dont have the jack.
