Car bouncy al low speed on deceleration
Hi again,
My new 2000 TL came with 54000 miles when I bought it from a private less than two months ago. It appears to perform well but after reading so much about tranny issues with this car I have been paying attention to many details.
I only drove the car for about 700 miles but I noticed that at low speed ( 20 to 35-40) the ride is a little bouncy especially when I decelerate. I don't feel the transmission downshifting but sometime I feel like the car pulling back. If I hit the gas it picks up immediately with no problem.
I recall someone in this forum saying that the tranny of the Acura and Honda aren't as smooth as the Toyota or other brands, but is this normal? Or is it possible that the cause of this bouncing can come from some malfunction other than the tranny?
Thank you,
Peter

could need to spray clean the TB plate and seafoam the gas and engine vac port
That will clean everything like new so you can tell if its a parts problem or just a minor tune up

you could have a bad vac assisted motor mount too
The front and rear mounts are hi tech and like to fail-especially the front
oil fluid filled and vac boosted- good chance of failure there

It is interesting you mentioned the motor mount because when I bought the car from a private I went to the dealer to get the service record of the car and the record says that the side engine mount is craked bad. The esimate cost for replacement is $245.
The front mount looks like brand new to me but I don't know if it has been replaced already. There is no record in the report that it has been replaced. How would I see if the sides or rear mounts are bad without going to the dealer?
