Can't Hear my Navigation

Shouldn't the Navigation automatically dim the volume of the music that its playing when it needs to tell you to make a turn?? I mean when I have the volume up, maybe about half way, ( LOVE THE BOSE SYSTEM!!) the volume only dims in maybe one channel/speaker and the rest remain at that volume. So when the navigation speaks I can't really hear what she is saying, and I have to lower my volume and replay the message, which is annoying. I've been in other cars where the music volume dims in all channels and the navigation speaks and then the volume goes back up slowly automatically. Is this how it was designed in our TL's or do I have to mess around with some settings or do I just have something wrong??

thats how its designed...it only mutes the front speakers....thats the way it is designed...maybe your fade is set to the back speakers to much and that is causing it to be louder even when the navi mutes the fronts.

If not lower the damn radio when you don't know where your goin

Your right, I do have the fader set to the rear speakers just one notch, cuz I like that setting, cuz I just feel the rear speakers handle the bass better. But I guess thas what I will have to do!!

Don't forget you can also turn up the volume on the NAVI in the setup screen.

Yeah the volume is all the way up in the setup screen. Doesn't seem to fix the problem. My friends QX4, all speakers dim volume when the navigation needs to come on to tell you something. I just thought thas how every car should be, but I guess not.
