Canadian TLs: 478km/tank or 22mpg converted: Winter U.S. drives chime in as well
Just wanted to know how other canadian are fairing with the mpg with 2nd TL. I have the '99 and I'm averaging about 22mpg when I do the convertion form 54 liters to full my tank and about 478 when the light comes on.
The problem is that I mostly do highway driving so I'm think I should be getting a little bit more than what I'm currently at.
Just wanted to know what you guys are averaging per tank. I know its been discuss 'to infinite and beyond' but what once more gonna do.
Few things to note:
* I've been meaning to do some seaform snce the summer so I havn't change my oil in about 9km so I'm way overdue
* K&N aire filter is still clean last I check back in late summer
* I mostly drive around 120km/h or 75mph and always light on the throttle on local roads
* tires are fine 38psi each.
* as a matter of fact I was going to put some in the crankcase and tank today and do an oil change, gonna leave the PCV/booster for a while.

Well 470-ish sound's ok to me for Canadian winters. Considering all the time spent warming up the car moving it around to shovel the snow...ect. I myslelf live in Montreal, where it can get pretty messy and cold in winter. I average about 340km a tank with 50/50 driving, and my car is in tip top shape with all maintenance done before winter started. Although in Summer I can do about 650km a tank 100% highway I find that the TL is a gas pig in the winter and also when most of your driving is in the city!

yes, it's gas pig in the winter..lol..just experienced in the last few weeks. I barely got 400km with 55L. But normally I can go 500km with the same about of gas if not more. And I do mostly city driving.

I got 13.6L/100km on my last tank... I can get better gas milleage with a 5.3L pickup truck.
This summer I'd get around 500-550km from a tank (very near from empty)... Now during winter I get around 425-475km...
I got some engine mods I dont know how they affect my gas milleage...

I can't accurately give you my mileage as I warm up 5-10 minutes in this -35C weather in 'Peg. In summer I'd say 11L/100km & in winter I think around 14L/100km for 40% city/60% hwy driving. I have winter tires, 35 psi, seafoamed last year, K&N filter clean. No ethanol in premium gas here. Transmission shifts like molasses after sitting in -35C temp for 9 hours after work.

Over the spring/summer I was getting 28-31 mpg with a best of 32. Now with winter driving/winter gas/warm up I'm getting 24-26 with a worst of 22. I can't wait for spring again.
