Can you tell when motor mounts are bad?

I know there are quite a few who had their motor mounts replaced during their tranny replacements. I have had 3 trannies swaps and I am not sure if the motor mounts are in good condition. I feel and hear a slight click during accel and braking every once and a while. Do you think it is the brake cali and not the motor mounts?

Holding down the brake and ligthly hit the gas - you can see if your engine is moving around - that is with the hood open and an extra person - I just did this at the Acura dealership - replaced two mounts and the old ones' were bad.

why is it that when they reaplace the tranny, the motor mounts always fuck up or break? sounds fishy to me.

I paid 200 or so at the dealer. It would have been cheaper to just buy the part $180 & use a jack to hold the engine up while replacing it.

I might be wrong, but I think it is because a couple of the mounts have to be removed to change the tranny??? Correct me if I am wrong, please.

Its not that every time they replace it it breaks, its easiest to replace it when they remove the sub frame for the tranny. ther are ways of checking them to see if bad (cant remember off the top of my head) leaking and cracking are some of them
