i need a new remote for my car and the type S one (the silver one i think) looks awesome. i was wondering if i could program it to work w/ an 00 TL system. if anyone has done this, lemme know.

The two remotes are not interchangeable. The newer remotes have a different security setup than the old ones, plus the memory seats. However, you can swap boards from one remote to the other with some mod's to the new remotes case and the old remotes board (basically, take the new remote, take the board out - take your old remote, take the board out and stick it in the new remotes case). I did this about 3 weeks ago, it works perfectly and be done in about an hour with the right tools and patience. Here's a thread that went around that has a clip of the finished product working:

I replaced my scratch up 99 TL remote with the 02+ TL casing long time ago. Used to have a thread on this site but seems lots of data was lost. Use a dremel and it's easy enough, keep trying to fit it and like orcaatk said, have patient.
