Yes, I use them for my winters.

Unless you've upgraded your calipers you'll be fine.

Do you notice a difference in the ride and road noise?
For comforts' sake, do you think its worth the swap?

If anything, it should be slightly faster since the wheels are lighter.

16" Wheels on Type-S

I use 04 Accord Rims (TSX style) with the stock 205/60/16 Michelin Energy tires for winter use. They actually ride better than the stock 17s and I get better fuel economy (probably because of less rolling resistance.) Car feels lighter at takeoffs and has dramatically less raod noise. This may change if I eventually slap on winter tires on these rims.

They probably give close to the stock TL ride quality with a little bit of stifness. Offset looks OK too.

IM curious how the set up will feel.
I really dont like the feeling of riding on rails everyday, especially on highway trips which I love to do.
Plus 16inch tires are generally cheaper and easier to find around here!!
I think TL-p wheels would give it a much more comfortable ride with a bit more bit on corners than a normal TL-p - and lets not forget the extra 35hp :-)

Thanks for the input guys.

Well damn...if you are going to go down to a 16 then might as well get ULTRA light ones. The OEM 16 are heavy for the size PLUS they're not that cheap. But...if you have them lying around then who cares.

FYI...a set of 16" Rota rims will be around $125 a wheel and they're only 14.5lb each.

I ride on 18's in the summer.

I think that 17's are the perfect blend of comfort and performance, 16's are a bit on the mushy side and make the car ride like a Camry. If that's your thing then knock yourself out. I personally bought the Type S because it is sporty.

Reason being, A guy is selling his Type S wheels to me and he will take my TL- P wheels and some extra cash. He won't do the transaction if the wheels don't fit. He said that his wheel hub may be bigger...

But, thanks to you guys, the deal will go through...

Thanks for the tip, edgalang!

Sounds like an ok trade to me, isex02.

I would have to buy a 16" set up and keep the 17's around, so I would be reluctant to trade. Just never know when I feel like getting sporty for an evening and slapping those back on :-)
