CAI vs Short Ram
there is a danger of getting water in the intake. i've driven through big puddles with no problems, but you shouldn't be driving in 2-3 feet deep water anyway. if you're still paranoid, then you can get the AEM bypass valve if you're getting an AEM intake. i think someone said the valves are being recalled, but you should check on it. the differences in gains probably wouldn't be noticable until you're at higher speeds when the cold air rushes into the CAI.

If you have a TL-S (which I'm assuming you do since you're in the TL-S forum
) you can get an intake from AEM or Xephyr Performance. Now, I know you're saying you've never heard of Xephyr. He's a guy from the CL forum who started his own company. Check out his site ( www.xephyrperformance.com ). The numbers are pretty much even with AEM, but the intake, with the by-pass valve already installed, costs only $185 plus shipping. That's close to $100 less then the AEM. If you decide to go the AEM route, www.autocarparts.com is the place to go. All in all, CAI's are better. You will get a lot better perfomance with a CAI....------------------
