CAI rubber hoses
CAI rubber hoses
Ok, I have a problem. I installed my Injen CAI about 3 weeks ago. The intake came with 2 red rubber hoses: 10mm and 23 mm diameters. The smaller one is for the coolant, and I believe the larger one is just a vacuum hose. Well, I deviated from the Injen instructions, and did not replace the existing stock metal tubes (one vacuum, one coolant). Instead, I simply cut the Injen supplied rubber hoses so that they would function as extensions to my existing stock metal tubes. Well the point at which the rubber hose attaches to the stock coolant line touches the ceiling of the hood of my car. Now as you all know, that coolant line gets very hot. It has bruned all the way through the hood insulation, and I'm starting to see the hose crack.
So I need a replacement hose. I need to get the stock metal tubes out of there, and use another rubber hose. Well, I have had tremenous difficulty finding metric rubber hoses. Almost every place sells standard sizes. I emailed info@autocarparts.com on saturday, but still haven't gotten a reply. All I need are new hoses.
Where can I find these hoses?

Same thing happened to me (except mine broke and leaked!!!). I emailed Injen and they had new hoses out to me within the week.
What I ended up doing was wrapping the vacuum hose around the intake which brought the whole pipe lower... now it does not rub against the hood anymore. Check out my website for pics... you'll see what I mean....

Well, I got no repsonse from my email to autocarparts.com (where I bought the CAI) so I followed your advice, jrbean, and I called Injen up in CA. They said they would ship me new hoses, and I should get them in about a week.
Here's to hoping my coolant line lasts that long!
