A/C setting me up for failure
47k and my A/C quit, or so i thought. Where i go to school there's no freaking Acura, so the way back to houston today, i foudn out my a/c does work...at around 100 mph only. WTF. Talk about setting me up for failure. So the wohle 8 hr drive i'd cruise at 100 where ever i could in the boonies, and ocne in the small cities, damn...i was sweating my ass off.
Went into the dealer where i bought car(john eagle...dumb) and he said i have aftermarket parts my A/c might no be covered and its' 89 bucks to check it out if it's not covered. I was like, ummm, i'll come back...cuz if they're giving me B.S., once they check it might come somre more BS so ima go to a different shop, probably southwest.
oh yah, anybody know hte problem?

You probably need a recharge on the A/C system.
When you turn on the A/C, can you hear and see if the A/C compressor is on? If not, either there is a bad relay or the compressor is gone.

The a/c might need to be recharged. I would also see about another dealer. If that dealer is giving crap about aftermarket parts and you just got there then most likely they are going to be a pain in the a$$!

I had the same problem... my A/C auxiliary fan was out. The motor was replaced under warranty ($380 otherwise). The reason your A/C works at high speeds is because the wind generated produces active cooling (no need for a fan). Once you come to stop though .. or slow down.. things begin to overheat and your A/C stops working!
