Question A/C question. Is this normal?

Hey, guys. It's getting cold here, in Canada. I recently noticed that
the air coming out from the vent is warm even when the A/C is off. Then I lowered the temp setting, with the the A/C off, and the air became cool. Is this normal? Isn't the temp of the air supposed to be controlled by the A/C when it is "on"?

With the A/C in the off position your cannot produce cool air to cool the cabin. The fact that your vents feel cool as you reduce the preset temp is normal.the car is simply complying with what you asked it to do.If you were to try the same thing in the summer the air coming from the vents with the A/C off would never be cooler than the ambient temp outside the car.For best and most efficient operation of this system select your temp nd put the system in Full Auto mode.In this way the car can decide for itself how to best obtain the temp setting you selected.Jens
