A/C Compressor Question

In out TL's there is a little button the turn off and on the A/C. has anyoen every used it?

I never used mine, so here is the real question....if you have your climate control set to auto how does the A/C compressor know when to turn off itself?

is it automatically or when the temp is adjusted above a certain point like 75 then will it shut off?

thanks

It's automatic. The A/C compressor works no matter the temperature as it serves as a dehumidifier... so even when you run the heat in the winter, at "FULL AUTO" it is probably utilizing the compressor. As far as engaging and disengaging, it does so automatically according to the temp you have it set on and the temp reading from the inside of the car. The thermometer that it gets data from inside the car from is above your right knee by the steering column.

its not a temp that it engauges or dissengauges. you ever turn on defrost at 90 deg? it will still run the ac. it does it to help draw the moisture out of the car.. My suggestion is to figure out why it stays on so that you can turn it off
