Bypass Valve?? For CAI

Does the bypass valve really stop the water from coming in? Also does it block the flow of the air getting in? I got the K&N drop it but i wanna get the CAI and get to the next level!

I would recommend going with the AEM CAI and get the ByPassValve. It really does work and help. Worth the extra $30 or $40.... Check out this website address.... Hope this helps..

Do you plan on driving through anything bigger than a 1 foot puddle? If the answer is yes, I'd get the bypass, but if you do, then I suggest a whole nother car completely.

To be on the safe side, get it. It's only @$30 for it. But to fix a whole engine, that's another story (that's if its salvageable after it's flooded)!

Why the AEM instead of the Injen? just curious??? Also does the CAI alter the factory warranty? The reason i asked was b/c i have foglights which they cut out the holes on the 99 so the Cai filter wouldn't be too far up from there and water can possibly get in

I have personally liked AEM. They have great products. The ByPassValve is made from AEM. Just if I go with one part, I like to have the same manufacturer matching it, hence CAI & ByPassValve. When I got mine put on and went to my dealership, they didn't say anything about my warranty being voided. I still got my service with no problems. As I said, It's worth the extra money. You never know when you could accidentally get water up their, go through a puddle that you think is low but really deep. Just take the extra precautions and get the lil thing. That's just my piece of advice. Hope this helps....
