Bye Bye TL

Well, it finally happened tonite. I left Auburn to go back to Atlanta for a party... and 2 miles up the interstate my tire blew out and I even after I did everything I could to stop my skid, I ran into the ditch and ****ed my car up... bad. I dont know what is going to happen to it, but I miss it so much. I tried everythign to keep it on the road. But I was going sideways in front of a transport on the interstate, and it all happened so fast. the whole front end is ****ed up.... I dont know what to do. I just want my car back... this sucks. sorry ya'll... I just had to tell ya'll, I figured if anyone could understand, it would be you guys.

Sorry to hear about that. But at least you are ok.

At least now you have an excuse to get the 04 TL.

BTW, how fast were you driving when the tire blew out? Oh and any pics?

naw I dont have any pics.... I'll take some tomorrow when I go visit it. I was doing 85mph. The cop told me if I hadn't done what I did to try and correct my skid, I would have ended up in oncoming traffic. I'm really depressed right now. I'm carless in Alabama.... thats never a good thing. I'll update tomorrow and let ya'll know how everything looks.

Hey all,

Sorry I havn't updated at all... my internet has been down. I'm actrually in NYC right now on vacation, so I'm using my friends comp. Anyways, just wanted to let everyone know that things are going to be OK.... there was a total of $3600 worth of damage to my TL, including frame damage!!! but its in Montgomery right now getting fixed. The good news is that insurance is covering 2 tires (ordered bridgestone turanzas) and I have to pay for the other 2, I needed a new front bumper anyways after hitting a curb, and I had a knock off CAI, but I just got off the phone with a parts dealer and I ordered an actual AEM intake which insurance is paying for. Right now I have a chevy malibu as a rental car, which is an upgrade from the Focus I had before. I just cant wait until I have her back!!!! Anyways, I'll post some pics when I get back down to Auburn.

My frame was damaged on my old '99 TL-P and the shop that was supposed to fix it didn't do a very good job. The handling on my '99 is completely f****d up due a new frame being put in. Make sure you find a good shop to put in your frame, along with all the necessary procedures when putting in a new frame. Good luck to you and glad you're ok. Keep us updated

Those basically show what happened... the whole front end is bent and all, but I took it to a very reputable body shop. When I went to see my car they had a new S-Class benz in there and a 5-series, so I imagine they could do a TL.... anyways, I'll be gettin the car back this week sometime, thank god. I cant wait. Keep your fingers crossed that it will drive like it used too. If it doesn't then I will opt to get a new car, definatelty the TSX, maybe an 02-03 TLS, or if I'm very lucky an 04 TL... but I just want to keep this car... I love it!
