Well since I got a 99 mercedes clk 320 about a year ago,nothing but problems.I have put 20k miles and all of the sudden engine noises,rear view mirror falls off,truck latches break.
Repair bills add up to almost 9K,I'm very lucky that I brought it from a mercedes dealer or I'd be shit out of luck.My tl I put over 30k miles on it and never had a problem,only replaced rotors and brakes other then that nothing,no broken tranny,no strange noises.So now I'm serious thinking of trading the benz for a 02 tl type s with nav.It has 43k miles white with/tan interior at the acura dealer for $21,995.I'm gonna try to drop it to $21k out the door with tax,tags,etc.

Is there anything I should know about the 02 type s?I want a car that'll last(plan on keeping this for about 5+years.I'm just feed up with going back and forth to the dealers everytime something goes wrong,now I'm not a picky person so if its minor I'll just live with it but when engine starts knocking,etc like the benz.It's time to switch back to japanese long lasting.

 

make sure you get a good warranty for the tranny...

 

thats why i wont buy a german car. they are great cars but the maintance costs are unbelievable

 

 

Your tranny SHOULD be warrantied already if it's an 02. But make sure this is confirmed and when you make the deal, make it known that you are aware of the tranny problems and all the details about the car.
