Burned Cd's

OK, I know this topic has been discussed but I dont think I have found a proper response yet!

WHY THE HELL CANT I PLAY BUNRED CD's IN MY ACURA??? Its a damn Bose sound system.... arent they supposed to be good?

People are saying burn fast, burn slow, but cheap cd's buy expensive cd, hold your ears and turn 3 times before burning your cd's .....

what is the solution??? Do I really have to buy a new deck???? I need to listen to my tunes guys... please help..

Sorry to say buddy, but I just threw in a CD changer to get over that exact problem. I was trying to find certian CD and burn at certian speeds for over a year with some luck but not 100%, then through frustration, and convience (Tatewaki had just upgraded his TL's headunit to the Pioneer AV1 so there was an extra changer "lying around") I broke down and dropped on in last weekend. It is great, I get to listen to 100's of MP3s and no worries about the disk not reading them. Origionally, I didn't want to loose my steering wheel controls, which is what happens if I was to put in an aftermarket HU (Head Unit) in. Now I have the best of both worlds, get to listem to CD's and MP3s , while still using my steering wheel controls.

I put in a changer that playes MP3 and CD's, cost me just over $100CAD, worth it if you ask me.. I did the install my self... Ther are no pics of the trunk yet, I mounted the changer to the top of the trunk nothing special. I'm working on something special for my trunk system so I don't want to show it until it's done.
Here are some pics..of the install in the cabin.

it's a sony explode (I hate the brand but whatever it works), I bought it used from Tatewaki (a member here) and I installed it myself in a couple of hours. To install you'll have to get to the back of the deck, into the sunglass holder and run wires from the battery to the trunk (if your changer is going there). I would be happy to help you out with this, either give you a walk through or you could come to my shop in Richmond Hill and we could do it there. It only takes a couple of hours and it ia a bitch to do alone or without guidance, the freakin' stock stereo has 10 screws holding it on to te dash!!!!! 4 from the front and 3 for each side.

and steveninathens, the problem only existed on the single disk Head Units, yours is a 6 disk I believe.

Funny thing, the new MDX cd players will not play burned CD's , it will EAT the CD and not spit it out, then when you go to Acura, they will tell you that "the CD player is a CD player, it doesn't say CDR or CDRW on it anywhere, therefore you shouldn't have put a burned CD in, that will be $800.00CAD for a brand new radio!!! and no, the warranty doesn't cover that at all! "

I heard this directly from an Acura parts manager!!! He said he sees tons of them every week.

if you get a specific model of alpine(not sure of the model #'s off hand) it will plug into the factory deck and you wont have to FM modulate it, you will be able to use the factory deck to control it.
or the best rout get rid of the factory headunit and get a aftermarket deck, which will make the factory speakers sound better and will play all cd's

Mike the best bet is to check out a junk yard for a radio off a 2002+ TL , it's a 6disk and no-one has problems with it.

i have no problem with any types of cdr either. i have a 2000 tl...

How old is your cd burner. A burner usually has some kind of life span too. If your burner is old, it may cause problems on some sensitive player, in this case, your bose system...

one brand was messed up for me.....i think it was IMATION.....you couldn't move around the tracks, you had to just listen through...oh yeah, and it would SHOW that you had up to 99 tracks....it sucks....now i just use TDK CD-Rs and they're awesome. -shawn
