Bumper touch up paint help.
I searched the threads and didnt find the info I was looking for so ....
I just got my 2001 TL. It was a 1 owner car from an older woman here in town but apparently she had propblems parking it in the garage because both front and rear bumper have several verticl scratches in the paint where the garage door scratched them going up and down.
The metal on the car is perfect but both Bumpers have several black vertical lines where the paint was taken off.
I was going to just go buy the touch up paint at the dealers but then was reminded that since the bumpers are rubber and flexable the touch up paint might not work too well. Some of the scratched are deep enough that its taken off some of the rubber even. The body shop said to touch it up would be 500.00 per bumper. (they would just repaint the whole thing)
I'm not too worried about filling in the scratches as much as just covering the black lines with silver paint.
QUESTION:
what do I need to do to cover up these scratches? Do I need a special paint that will stick to the rubber bumper? Is there a certain prep I need to do?
Thanks for any advice in advance.

Touch up paints should do fine for bumper scratches. The flexing issue comes into play when you are talking about painting the entire bumper which will flex and could crack paint that doesnt have the flex additive in it.
Also. Here in NY, repainting both your bumpers should cost ~500. That estimate seems real high.
