Bumper Guards....
Bumper Guards....
Well I am in NYC and you know how these bastards park. I want to buy bumper guards. I am not looking to save any money, I just want to make sure that my bumpers don't get all scratched up. Any comments/ideas? Any pics (on SSM)? Also if I will set 'em up I will probably make 2 rows.
One of my neighbors has it on his 2002 Maxima and it looked not bad. (remember that I am not getting anything cheap)
Thanks

Have you thought about boat fenders?!?! They come in multiple colors. See my pic below. I don't see any silver ones but black might look pretty good against SSM.

Why don't you look into the clear bra products (Stoneguard, Xpel, what's the other one Mr. Hyde?). They're pricey but don't look ricey.

I'm assuming from your reply you haven't heard about the clear bra products. They are a thick "plastic" film that is adhered to the paint. They protect the paint from rock chips and scratches. They will not stop a Suburban's bumper from 5 mph though. That's where the boat fenders come in.
A few sites to check are:
www.stoneguard.com
www.xpel.com/
www.armourfendamerica.com/index.html
From reading previous posts and reviewing the web sites, Stoneguard or Armourfend appear to be the best. IMHO. Look at the leading edge protection and the fewer relief cuts/seams that Stoneguard and Armourfend offer over Xpel.
You might also use the search feature of this forum and look for clear bra.
The next cars my family gets, will have a clear bra put on them immediately after leaving the dealer's lot. Today's paints are much softer than those of a few years ago.
