Bubble in my tire

Hi, I am a newbie..i have been reading for a while now..first post.

I have 2003 TL type-s. I just graduated from college..my first car. I really love it, but low on cash to do mods..Anyway, I hit a really bad pot hole with my car. There is a bubble on my front right tire...i have a couple of questions.

1) I have around 6,000 miles. I also have the extended warranty. Are they gonna do anything about the tires? What should I do?

2) I am looking for tires that have smooth, comfortable ride. What should I get? I want smoother ride that stock tires. I read somewhere about Sumitomo HTR+. What are the options?? Also, will I have to change all the tires? or just the front 2?

Thanks for all your help..

As far as I know, Acura doesn't cover tires. You might need to go Michelins directly. There is definitely better tires out there compare to stock. However, decide that you want zrated tires or all season tires. I live in NYC area and I have Kumhos summer tires and they suck in the snow. I have a set of 16s with all season tires for winter. If you plan to replace the bubbled tire, you don't need to replace the front two since you only have 6,000 miles on your car. Just make sure you mount and balance the replacement tire.

I got a bubble in front passenger tire also last month. Acura doesn't do anything for you. You need to go to a michelin authorized dealer. Go to a Sears or something like that. Is it obvious that is was a pothole. Because what happens is that if it is not your fault and its a tire defect they give a brand new one no charge. If it could go both ways possibly your fault and possibly Michelin fault they will give you something called goodwill which they will take 40% to 60% off the new tire. I got a new stock tire and balanced for $92 which is cheap.

I got a bubble on the inside wall. The inside rim was scratched a bit so I brought it to a tire shop and had the front tire switched with the back rim and the back tire to the front rim. So when I brought it in they couldn't tell that I hit a pothole that is why I got the goodwill

Should I just take them to an authorized michelin dealer? Do they need any type of warranty document or anything?

No warranty document because the car is brand new. I went there with no warranty papers with 8500 miles. Had no problems.

Almost all of the dealers said that it was my fault if i had a bubble. And new tire cost around $250.

Does anyone use Sumitomo HTR+? I heard that was a cheaper and more comfortable ride.

Also, what is the best place to go to get tires and get it mounted for a cheap price?

Why would you think it wasn't your fault?

You ran over the pothole. If Michelin covered every tire that hit a curb, ran over a pothole or debris on the road, they'd be out of business.

I have Maxxis 88v M+S tires and they have pretty good dry traction, excellent wet traction and have the sides bolstered for protecting your wheels. They were dirt cheap as well-even cheaper than the Kumho's. I have used Kumho's before and really liked them but the wet traction suffers after about 10,000 miles though they are even less expensive. The stock Michelins, in my opinion, sucked in all mediums...

I had to replace 2 tires last week because of a bubble caused by running over a pothole. I decided on the Sumitomo HTR+ because it was much cheaper, and the reviews on Tirerack were not bad. My initial impressions are that they ride smoother, but I think there is more sidewall roll around corners. It's possible that I'm just not used to the tire's dynamics yet.
